Carlingford , a Medieval Town, walk the medieval streets, all of the ancient buildings are still standing, visit King John's Castle built on a rocky outcrop overlooking Carlingford Lough. From this first stone castle the town developed - burgage plots, defensive walls, narrow streets & Tower Houses, Carlingford has it all.

You can dine in any bistro/restaurant, there are 9 restaurants, seven pubs, craft and antique shops, an adverture centre, equestrian centre, There are 2 golf courses on the Peninsula, learn to sail at the Sailing Club.

Walk in the Cooley Mountains - fantastic views from Slieve Foye. Maps are available in the Tourist Office for Tain Way - waymarked walking route covering 40km of the Cooley Mountains.
