| The Mint dates back to the 15th/16th century, but it is thought unlikely that the building was ever actually used as a mint. The most interesting feature of the building is its five highly decorated limestone windows. | ![]() |
The Thosel, the only surviving Town Gate in Carlingford. It functioned as a tollgate where taxes were levied on goods entering the town.

Taaffe's
Castle was built in the early 16th Century on the old harbour front.
This building was the residence of an important member of the merchant
class. The building gets it name from the Taaffe family who became Earls
of Carlingford in 1661.

When you walk the medieval streets you can still see the ancient buildings still standing.
You can dine in any bistro/restaurant - there are nine restaurants, seven pubs, craft and antique shops, adventure centres etc.
